01 — Challenge

One catalogue, three languages, no system

Every game has a player count, playing time, age rating, designer, artwork and stock status — details that have to stay identical in each language. On the old site they were written out three times. A single price change meant three edits, and one of them was regularly missed. Retailers found neither data sheets nor a clear way to send an enquiry. On top of that, site search returned nothing at all for Turkish characters.

02 — Solution

One source, three surfaces

We modelled every game as a single record: numbers, images and availability are entered once, and only the descriptive text exists per language. The catalogue filters by player count, playing time, age and series without reloading the page. Retailers get their own area with data sheets and ordering documents, plus an enquiry form that already carries the range, quantity and destination country. The editorial team maintains everything in one interface where missing translations are flagged. Images are delivered in several sizes.

03 — Result

Minutes instead of hours

The team now publishes a new game in a fraction of the time it used to take — in all three languages, data sheet and retailer information included. Phone calls asking about terms have dropped noticeably, because the answers are on the page. Enquiries arrive structured and can be sorted by country. The catalogue can grow without the workload growing with it. New series can be added without touching the structure at all.

Scope

  • Game catalogue with filters for player count, playing time, age and series
  • Three language versions from one data source, with missing translations flagged
  • Product pages with data sheet, rulebook download and current availability
  • Protected retailer area holding terms and ordering documents
  • Enquiry form that passes on range, quantity and destination country
  • Editing interface where new titles go live without developer help
We used to enter every new release three times and still miss something. Now we enter it once, and the site is up to date in all three languages.
